My professional journey in Social Work has been marked by specialisms in critical areas such as child protection, children in care and care leavers. Notably, I possess a track record of 15 years dedicated to working with children from diverse backgrounds, including unaccompanied asylum-seeking minors and those from abroad. In this capacity I have effectively conducted age assessments and engaged in the formulation of targeted interventions. As a proficient practice teacher, I have provided invaluable guidance and supervision to student social workers, nurturing their development and fostering their success. Additionally, my contributions extend beyond the realm of practice as an associate lecturer at Chichester university, where I have played an instrumental role in cultivating the knowledge and skills of aspiring social work students. Presently, I hold the esteemed position of advanced social worker within a prominent Child Asylum Team, where I actively contribute to the advancement of this crucial field

Matt Vincent: I possess over 20 years of professional experience as a qualified social worker, having obtained my qualification from Chichester University in 2001.

Prior to that, I cultivated valuable expertise through several years of service in residential schools. Throughout my career, I have excelled in various domains of social work, including Child protection, Children in care, Adolescents and Fostering. Furthermore, I have successfully established and managed a company focused on empowering Care leavers in their journey towards independence, alongside overseeing a Parent and Child assessment centre.

In recent years, my focus has shifted to managerial roles within a local authority's child asylum team. In this capacity, I have honed my knowledge of the asylum system and effectively navigated complex trafficking situations, particularly at Gatwick Airport. I have also played a pivotal role in conducting meticulous age assessments while collaborating closely with legal services to ensure adherence to the latest legislation and research.
